Alt-Med Florida is one of only 13 medical marijuana treatment licensees in the state.
The company is growing the drug from its Apollo Beach facility. They tell ABC Action News that in just a few months it will be ready to distribute.
John Tipton, CEO Plants of Ruskin, says "Once you started doing the research in other states where it's legal, it really became a passion for all of us."
They hope to start distributing in 2018. They also plan to expand with 6 dispensaries and nearly 100 employees.
