Thousands of children and families in need in the Tampa Bay Area receive gifts, toys and clothing through The Salvation Army's Angel Tree program each year.
Nearly 17,000 children are expected to receive assistance this year.
The Salvation Army will be holding Christmas assistance registration throughout the Tampa Bay Area, beginning September 28, to make sure children and families have what they need for the holidays.
The Salvation Army in Hillsborough will have Christmas assistance signups for families and children at or below the poverty line. Christmas assistance registration includes food baskets, gifts for children age 12 and under, and in some areas grocery gift cards for seniors age 65+.

TAMPA (Hillsborough County)
The Salvation Army Worship Center, 1100 W. Sligh Avenue, Tampa, Fla, 33604, will hold Christmas assistance signup from September 28-October 2 and October 5-9.
Signup each day is 9:00 a.m. to noon and 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Extended hours are October 1 and October 8 from 9:00 a.m. to noon and 12:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
RIVERVIEW (Hillsborough County)
Registration will also be held at The Salvation Army South Hillsborough County, 7409 US Highway 301, Riverview, FL 33569, October 12-16.
Signup hours are 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
CLEARWATER (Pinellas County)
The Salvation Army Joy Center, 1521 E. Druid Road, Clearwater, Fla., 33756, will have registration for Christmas October 8 10 and October 13 - 16. Signup hours are from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. each day, except October 13 - 14 where hours are extended until 7:00 p.m.
The Salvation Army, 209 S. Pinellas Avenue, Tarpon Springs, Fla., 34689 will have registration from October 9, 14, and 16. Signup hours are from 8:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 - 4:00 p.m.
ST. PETERSBURG (Pinellas County)
The Salvation Army, 3800 9th Avenue North, St. Petersburg, FL 33713, will have registration from October 12-16. Signup hours are from 9-11 a.m. and 1-3 p.m.
October 16 registration hours are from 1-6 p.m.
NEW PORT RICHEY (Pasco County)
The Salvation Army Center of Hope, 8040 Washington St., New Port Richey, 34668, will have registration for Christmas applications November 2-13 from 10a.m. 1 p.m.
LAKELAND (Polk County)
The Salvation Army, 2620 Kathleen Rd, Lakeland, FL 33810, will have registration for Christmas applications October 5 -10 10/5 from 9a.m. noon and 1p.m. 7p.m.
