A 38-year-old woman who was headed the wrong way on a Tampa street this morning was charged with DUI, according to the Tampa Police Department.

Around 3 a.m., a woman later identified as Alexandra Luckett of 5359 Marset Lane in North Port was spotted by a DUI officer driving a 2015 Mitsubishi Galant. Luckett stopped at the red light at 14th Avenue East and 21st Street North in the right lane, police say.

Luckett was facing westbound on 14th Avenue. When the light turned green, she pulled into the intersection and made a left turn onto 21st Street, crossing in front of another vehicle that was in the left lane.

The suspect made a right turn westbound heading the wrong direction onto the I-4 eastbound exit ramp, police say.

She pulled up to the wrong way sign, drove around it and continued up the exit ramp, police say. The DUI officer stopped her on the exit ramp and noticed that she was impaired after she failed field sobriety tests.

She refused to provide a breath sample when she was booked.
