Tampa man co-founds non-profit that has given 5,000 bikes to Tampa Bay kids in need

Julius Tobin has a full-time job, but his full-time passion is giving bikes to kids in need in the Tampa Bay community.

"It's not just the kids,” said Tobin. “It’s the parents too. Some of these parents wouldn't otherwise be able to provide anything for these kids. Just think about the impact for them."

Tobin is one of the founders of the Tampa-based non-profit Onbikes. It started as a grassroots effort to provide bikes for a few kids in the community. They say they were on a mission to bring bicycles to foster kids in the Tampa Bay community. The non-profit has now grown exponentially; giving out nearly 5,000 bikes to kids in need.

"We have incredible partners,” said Tobin. “From Metropolitan Ministries to the Tampa Police Department and we do it. We're here at the Children’s Cancer Center today. We don't need to be the heroes. We team up with organizations that identify the kids in need for us."
