Tampa Fire Rescue says it has identified a suspect or person of interest in two Ybor City arsons at the same location.

The Ybor Resort and Spa, which is empty, was set on fire Saturday and also on March 11. Investigators believe the two arsons are connected.

The building was empty but heavily damaged and businesses on either side were also in danger.

"Me? I'm just frustrated and angered," said Mary Kate Bryant who works next door.

"It's so close. Literally this close from us so it affects other businesses," she said.

"The sooner that they determine who did it and that he's charged and he's not gonna try again of course will feel better," said Danny Alberti who owns the building next door.

Tampa Fire Investigators have not released the name of the suspect. But say he broke into the Ybor Resort and Spa Saturday and set fires in multiple spots making it intense and very difficult to fight.

"There's water damage. There's a lot of smoke damage. Part of the roof is burnt off. It's exposed to the sky in part of the building," said Aleberti.

We've also learned 45-year-old Carroll DeMoss was arrested Saturday for criminal mischief for leaving graffiti on the outside of the Ybor Resort and Spa.

Fire investigators say they have not connected him to the arson.

"We can't run our business. The servers are down. There's no electricity," said Bryant.
