Surveillance video captured a man breaking into a South Tampa home, rummaging through property and stealing jewelry, cash and other items before fleeing the residence on Monday, August 8.

The theft occurred on Morrison Avenue West in Tampa.

The suspect, an unknown male, entered the home by forcibly opening a bedroom window.

Detectives believe that this burglary is related to a pattern of burglaries that have happened in the area since March of this year.

During the day on August 2, there were two additional burglaries that occurred in the same area.

A witness told police that around 11:30 a.m., they heard men speaking Spanish on Morrison Avenue West and a blue car was seen leaving the area moments later. Just before 10 a.m., a 2010 to 2013 blue Kia Forte coupe was spotted after a witness saw a man jumping over a fence on San Luis Street West.

A witness took photos of the suspect's vehicle. It is described as a bright blue compact car with a K emblem on the front of it. The name Kia is not spelled out on the car.
