An Uber driver's gun discharged during an altercation with two potential passengers on Sunday afternoon in the Adventure Island parking lot.

Tampa Police responded to what was originally reported as a shooting in the parking lot of Adventure Island. When they finished their investigation, they discovered that the report of a shooting was incorrect.

Police say that the Uber driver, Julian Leon III, 29, was at Adventure Island to pick up two potential customers, Austin Korb, 23, and Skylar Korb, 27.

According to the police, the Korb's were wet when their Uber arrived. Due to this, Leon would not let the Korb's in the car and refused to drive them.

This refusal led to a verbal dispute between the Korb's and Leon.

The verbal altercation progressed into a physical one.

According to police, at some point during the altercation, Leon, fighting with both potential passengers and in fear for his life, reached into the vehicle and took out a gun in order to defend himself.

A struggle for the gun ensued and a round was discharged from the gun.

No injuries or damage was reported.

There have been no charges filed at this time.
