Police: 2 dead after Sunset Music Fest in Tampa

Two people who attended the Sunset Music Festival at Raymond James Stadium died after they were hospitalized during the event, according to Tampa Police Department.
 
The deaths included a 21-year-old woman from Kissimmee and a 22-year-old man from Melbourne.
 
Their causes of death haven’t been released.
 
Police also report 57 people were hospitalized during the event.
 
Police made 25 felony arrests and eight misdemeanor arrests. Sixteen civil citations were given out for marijuana.
 
Four noise complaints were received during the event.
 
The Sunset Music Festival took place in the north lot of Raymond James Stadium between Saturday and Sunday. 
 
The Tampa Sports Authority has released the following statement:
 
“First and foremost, our thoughts and prayers are with the families affected by this tragedy during this difficult time. Presently we are working with the event promoter and local officials to obtain more information about these incidents at the Sunset Music Festival. After this information has been obtained and discussed with our partners at the county and the city, we will present the findings to the Tampa Sports Authority Board for review. After that review, we will be able to make a more informed decision as to the Festival’s future at our facility.”
