Tampa Police have arrested a Tampa man and charged him in the shooting death of a store owner early Sunday afternoon during an armed robbery.
At approximately 12:37 p.m., officers responded to a report of a robbery at the 29th Street Store, located at 2802 N. 29th Street.
When police arrived on scene, they found a man, later identified as 60-year-old Mohamoud Ibrahim, dead from a gunshot wound in an apparent robbery.
Tampa PD arrested and charged 24-year-old Christopher Antonio Sheffield on Monday. Sheffield was identified with the help of witnesses and video from the store. He was arrested at 4 a.m. after detectives were alerted that he might be hiding out at an apartment complex.
Sheffield was charged with First-Degree Murder, Robbery with a Firearm, Carrying a Concealed Firearm, and Felony Possession of a Firearm.
