Ole Miss football coach Hugh Freeze resigned Thursday night amid allegations he used a university phone to call a number associated with a Tampa escort service.
The university says he made a one-minute call on Jan. 19, 2016.
According to ESPN, Freeze had about $2 million on his contract for this year and $5 million for next year, along with $5.15 million for the 2019 season.
ESPN says the notice of allegations included eight new alleged rules violations and the lack of institutional control charge.
They also report that the NCAA has now accused the Rebels of 21 rules violations by current or former members of their football coaching staff.
This incident is reportedly separate from a different lawsuit regarding an NCAA investigation and a "smear campaign."
Assistant head coach Matt Luke has been named interim head coach.
