TAMPA, FLA.- — A downtown Tampa restaurant and bar is limiting indoor capacity to prevent overcrowding during the Super Bowl.

La La's Sangria Bar is located in the Channelside District of Tampa.

The bar is requiring reservations for lounge seating. Outdoor seating is also available.

"Everybody has to have a reservation to come in so we know we have enough seats for everybody. We're not overcrowding," said Lauren English, Co-owner of La La's Sangria Bar.

The bar plans to operate at a limited capacity.

"On a day to day, only really doing half-capacity and for Super Bowl we're probably going to do somewhere between a quarter and half-capacity depending on the seating that we have available," said English.

La La's Sangria Bar specializes in house-made sangria using all-natural fruits, spices and ingredients with no added sugar.

The bar opened months before the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

"We visited Tampa four times and fell in love with the area. We chose this specific location because of all the research we did as far as being in a residential area," said Co-owner John English.

On Super Bowl Sunday, customers may purchase food and drink packages. The prices range from $50 to $80 per person.

"We're really fortunate to be allowed to be open at all so we're going to go by whatever the recommendations are. We're trying to keep our employees safe along with our customers safe," said Co-owner John English.

Tampa Mayor Jane Castor signed an executive order on Thursday requiring face masks in specific outdoor locations in the City of Tampa defined as Event Zones and Entertainment Districts.

The order is designed to help stop the spread of COVID-19 at sites where large crowds of people are likely to congregated for Super Bowl related activities.

Event Zones include the areas of downtown Tampa and the area surrounding Raymond James Stadium. Entertainment Districts include Ybor, SOHO, the Central Business District, and the Channel District.

The owners of La La's Sangria Bar said they hope for a safe turnout.

"It's going to be a safe environment for everyone to come in and watch the game and have fun," said Lauren English.
