Neighbors in Seffner are concerned about a residential rehab facility after a man was arrested with child pornography there.

The group home is on Stark Road in Seffner.

“It’s not very good for raising a family, and this is a neighborhood where families live,” said a woman who lives near the rehab center and asked that she not be identified.

She is unhappy the group home for men with developmental disabilities is blocks away.

It’s where 23-year-old Mark Daniel Albers lived and was arrested for 39 felony counts of child pornography, each of those with ten or more images.

“Very disgusting, very disgusting and you know it makes you feel like you’re not even safe in your own home,  especially with your child, if you have people who have pornographic material that’s supposed to be under direction of the state,” the neighbor said.

It is a non-profit group home. Florida’s Agency for Persons with Disabilities oversees The Human Development Center and said it’s an intensive behavioral home.

They also said Albers wasn't supposed to have Internet access.

According to the search warrant, Albers closed the door to his room to work out and during a check, employees found Albers on his computer with “over twenty images of child pornography.”

HDC sent the following statement:

“The Human Development Center’s first priority is the safety of our clients and the community.  If there is an investigation, we will fully cooperate with law enforcement.  It would be inappropriate to comment further at this time.”'

An ABC Action News reporter checked with law enforcement. A convicted sexual predator also lives in the home and the Sheriff’s office has been out more than a half a dozen times in the last year for sex offender calls.

“You want your child to be able to go out and play but that can’t happen without us being out here with him because we don’t know who’s going to come from across the street or down the street or what they’re going to do,” the neighbor said.

Albers is on probation for a battery conviction in Palm Beach County. Authorities are investigating how he got child pornography onto his computer.
