Busch Gardens evacuated people from it's roller coaster, Sheikra on Thursday.
According to Senior Manager Karen Varga-Sinka, at approximately 3:45 p.m. the Sheikra roller coaster unexpectedly stopped mid-ride --right-side up-- with 64 guests on board.
At the time the ride launched, there was no indication of any operational issues.
"The exact cause of the ride stoppage has yet to be determined," Varga-Sinka said.
Passengers were evacuated and no injuries have been reported.
Varga-Sinka says Busch Gardens Tampa Bay takes the safety of its guests and employees very seriously and will conduct a thorough review of the coaster and its systems before reopening the ride.
