Amtrak train hits and kills a transient man in Tampa

A person was hit and killed by an Amtrak train in Tampa.  It happened a little before 6 p.m.  The train had just left the station in downtown Tampa and was traveling eastbound.  A man was walking on the tracks eastbound near Highview road. 

Deputies say that the conductor blew the horn on the train, but was not able to stop and hit the man.  The man died at the scene.

The man has been identified as Jeremy Richard Lee Haag, 43, of Seffner, Fla.
