The Safe & Sound Hillsborough Violence Prevention Collaborative has teamed up once again with local law enforcement, government officials, community organizations and corporate sponsors to host the 2nd Annual Safe Summit.
The event is scheduled for May 19 from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. at Hillsborough High School and is designed to address youth ages 11-17, parents and community stakeholders.
This year teens will have a chance to discuss issues that matter most to them with positive social media influencers.
Players and staff from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will team up with online celebrities and teens for a panel discussion on the challenges young people face with violence.
There will also be a series of workshops focusing on topics like teen violence prevention strategies, mental illness, social activism, employment, and financial literacy.
Teen entertainers who participate in the conference will display their talents during an exciting showcase that will wrap-up this year's event. In addition, the summit will highlight community heroes and announce scholarship award winners.
