St. Petersburg Police are investigating a double homicide that occurred early Thursday morning on 22nd Street South in St. Pete.

Just before 2 a.m., police responded to calls from residents saying they heard shots fired in the area. When they arrived at the 6400 block of 22nd Street South, they found two people in a white Toyota Rav4 in the driveway that had been shot.

A female in the driver’s seat and a male passenger were both shot. Officers immediately began administering first aid the man but he died on scene. The woman was transported to the hospital where she died a short time later.

The victims have been identified as Jacqueline Yvette Green, 48, of St. Petersburg (driver and owner of the Toyota) and Ashland Cleve Jarrett, 45, of Bradenton.

One witness says they saw a dark Toyota Camry leaving the area after shots being fired. Police are looking for this vehicle and believe there may be two people in that vehicle.

Police currently do not know the relation between the two victims. It is also unknown if they lived at this address or otherwise in the area.

The car is not registered to victims, an on-scene detective told ABC Action News.

There is no known motive at this time as police continue to investigate. Major Crimes Unit detectives are currently on scene investigating.
