Our pet of the week is a big fellow with a lot of love who shows weight loss is possible.
Oscar is a 4-year-old Black Mouth Cur-Chesapeake Bay Retriever mix. He arrived at Pet Pal Animal Shelter in August 2015 weighing a whopping 128 lbs.
Shelter workers worked hard with Oscar to help him shed some pounds. They made sure to give him daily healthy meals, consistent exercise, and lots of love.
All the hard work paid off as Oscar now weighs 96 lbs. Pet Pal is extremely proud of Oscar for keeping his spirits up over the past few months.
The shelter reports Oscar is good with some dogs, but not all, so a meet-and-greet would be required for anyone with another dog in the family before an adoption could be finalized.
Oscar has been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.
