ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- A man was hit by an SUV and killed while sitting at a St. Petersburg bus stop Sunday afternoon.

St. Pete Police say they are still looking for one of the drivers involved in the crash.

The crash happened on 49th Street North outside the Disston Plaza at around 12:50 p.m.

According to witnesses, the driver of a blue SUV swerved as she collided, or nearly collided, with a small white SUV, and she careened into a bus stop where a man and his grandson were sitting and waiting for the bus.

Santiago Carcamo, 83, later died from his injuries at a local hospital. His grandson, Gabriel Oliva, suffered broken bones in the crash.

The blue SUV's driver, Louise Pequeno, 78, was shaken up but not injured, say St. Pete Police. She is cooperating with the police investigation. At this time she is not being charged, but the crash investigator tells ABC Action News that they are still conducting their investigation and that could change.

Meanwhile, the driver of the small, white SUV did not stay at the scene and police are still hoping to find and talk to that driver. St. Pete Police tells ABC Action News that the driver who left the scene likely would not be charged, but could be key to the investigation.
