A 16-year-old victim was taken to the hospital after being shot in a St. Petersburg parking lot.
Wednesday afternoon, police received a call of a shooting victim in the parking lot of the vacant SunTrust Bank at 4142 6th St. S.
The 16 year old victim was taken to Bayfront Health Hospital. He suffered non-life threatening injuries.
The incident happened across the street from Lakewood Elementary, so the school was briefly placed on lockdown as a precaution.
Detectives are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
