St. Pete Beach Fire and Pinellas County Sheriff's Office searched the waters near Shark Tales Waterfront Restaurant early Thursday morning after a car crashed through a fence and into the water at the intersection of 75th Avenue and Sunset Way in St. Pete Beach. One person was transported to the hospital and police fear there may be another person in the water.

Just after 8 a.m. the Mercedes SUV was pulled out of the water. No one was in the vehicle when it was pulled out of the water. After speaking with the first victim rescued from the car earlier on Thursday, he indicated that there may have been another person in the vehicle when it plummeted into the water.

Dive teams searched the waters for the car and around 6:10 a.m. the vehicle was found in Blind Pass and a tow truck began pulling it from the water.
