A man is critically injured when shot twice in St. Petersburg

A man was shot twice Saturday in the 4800 block of 26th Avenue North in St. Petersburg, police officials said.

The victim, whose name was not released, was described as a man in his late 30s with upper body trauma.

He was taken to an area trauma center in critical condition.

The incident occurred about 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the area of an apartment on the grounds of Faith Lutheran Church at 4835 26th

Ave. N. in St. Petersburg.

The shooting appeared to be drug related, officials said. The victim was attempting to sell drugs to the suspect when he was shot.

No arrest have occurred.

The search for the shooter continues.
