A toddler was killed after being struck by a vehicle in Riverview early Tuesday morning, officials say.
Officials with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's office say that just before 7:30 a.m. a mother and daughter were walking their dog when the 3-year-old ran out into the street and was struck by a truck at Hampton Meadow Way and Legacy Bright Street.

The toddler was transported to St. Joseph's Hospital South with life-threatening injuries where she tragically succumbed to her injuries.

The toddler was identified as Brianna Savage. Deputies say she darted from the sidewalk into the path of the pick-up truck, and the driver never saw her.
