HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. — A group of local military wives have started a donation drive through early next week to help victims of Hurricane Michael.

Military Home Base, a local startup business, has decided to set up two location sites in Hillsborough County.

Iris Green, owner of Military Home Base, said the military families want to help, but a lot of them aren't always near the base to take the donations.

Instead, she helped set up multiple locations in Fishhawk and Carrollwood to make it easier for people to donate.

The first location is FishHawk Storage, who donated storage space to the group. Their donations will be accepted between 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.  Friday and Saturday at 16617 Fishhawk Blvd, Lithia, Fl.

The second location is eMortgage Management, they have offered a dropoff location at their Carollwood Office. Donations will be accepted Friday and Monday, October 15 through Friday, October 19. You can drop off items between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. at 14497 N Dale Mabry Suite 201N in Tampa, Fl.

Green said as military wives, they know how hard it is to be away from family when something awful happens. Her business is a concierge service that helps military families relocate to their duty assignments by helping find homes and services.

The group has coordinated with other military families to help transport items like water, non-perishables, power tools like chainsaws and other necessities to the Panama City and Tyndall Air Force Base areas.
