When you walk into Bloomingdale High School on Thursday you will notice students handing out notes with compliments on them.
“This is compliment day it’s just a day to reach out to people you normally don’t talk to,” said student Jalen Freet.
The student government class decided to host the day after feeling some fear in the school after the Parkland shooting.
"A lot of us took the fear, found the positive in it, and came together as one,” said student Haley Lazzara.
The students are also using the event as a way to raise money for the students at Parkland High School. Lazzara said high schoolers all across the state feel connected.
“We are going to be ok, we're going to make everyone feel safe and as happy as possible,” said Lazzara.
They plan to continue the feeling of positivity by declaring Friday “Fistbump Friday."
