SARASOTA, Fla. — The Sarasota County Sheriff's office has arrested and charged an Osprey woman with Manslaughter after a man died from an overdose.

According to detectives, on January 6, 2017, paramedics responded to a home in Sarasota where Lisa Ross, 40, reported that the victim, 39-year-old Michael B. Galler, was found in need of medical attention.

When they arrived, deputies and paramedics administered the opioid-reversal medication Naloxone and transported Galler to the hospital in critical condition. Galler died two days later.

Through investigation, detectives learned that Ross provided the substance to Galler and knew it contained fentanyl.

"Lisa Ross by her own act, procurement or culpable negligence killed a human being, Michael B. Galler, through the unlawful distribution of furanylfentanyl," the arrest affidavit reads.
