Venice HS principal charged with DUI after crash

The principal of Venice High School in Sarasota County now faces a DUI charge after crashing his car into a utility poll in late March. 

Jack Turgeon, 46, crashed while making a right turn in his 1988 Jeep Wrangler on State Road 72 just before 2 a.m. March 20. The Jeep hit a stop sign and a utility poll.

The early Sunday morning crash left him seriously injured. He was the only one in the vehicle.

Turgeon faces a careless driving charge in addition to the DUI. A blood test found that his blood alcohol content was .211, well over double the legal limit.
