SARASOTA, Fla. — Students looking to obtain a nursing degree will now have the opportunity to obtain one within two years at the University of South Florida.
USF College of Nursing and USF Sarasota-Manatee have teamed up to offer a bachelor’s degree in nursing within four semesters, including a summer term.
“This is an opportunity for students to obtain a nursing degree from the prestigious USF program at a very affordable cost,” said Paul Kirchman, PhD, dean of the USFSM College of Science & Mathematics. “Graduates of this program will have an unrivaled opportunity to move into jobs right here in Sarasota and Manatee counties in a field that offers extremely competitive starting salaries.”
The Accelerated Second Degree (ASD) nursing program will start Spring 2020.
“We are very pleased to partner with USF Health and the USF College of Nursing to offer an Accelerated Second Degree nursing program here at USF Sarasota-Manatee,” USFSM Regional Chancellor Karen A. Holbrook, PhD, said. “There is a critical need for well-trained, highly-skilled nurses, and through this new program students can obtain an education that prepares them to enter the workforce quickly with the necessary skills to help meet the need.”
