A 17-year-old is dead and three other teens are injured after crashing a stolen vehicle in North Port.
It happened on Thursday around 2:30 a.m. in the area of Yorkshire St. and Cassava Rd.
Police say the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree.
Authorities say the car, a white Honda, was recently stolen from Port Charlotte and was occupied by four teenagers ranging from 13-17.
The 17-year-old died of his injuries sustained during the crash. The other three were taken to hospitals, two by helicopter.
The North Port Police Department's Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating this crash and working on additional details.
