NORTH PORT, Fla. -- Six people were injured, including students, in a crash involving a school bus and another vehicle on Wednesday morning in North Port.
North Port Police say that the crash took place at Toledo Blade Boulevard and Cranberry Boulevard around 7 a.m.
Police say that a bus carrying around 20 students from North Port High School was involved in the crash.
Six people were injured in the crash including the driver of the bus and the driver of the vehicle it collided with, police say. None of the injuries are considered serious at this time.
The cause of the crash has not been released at this time.
The Sarasota County School District has been notified. The district will contact the parents of those necessary, according to NPP.
Drivers are being asked to avoid the area of Toledo Blade Boulevard because the bus is currently blocking the south lanes.
