Portions of Venice Myakka River Park closed due to flooding

SARASOTA COUNTY, Fla. — Portions of the Venice Myakka River Park are closed for safety due to river flooding. 

The park is still open to the public at this time, with just the back portion closed from the flooding. Barricades have been places on the sidewalk. 

Sarasota Parks and Recreation said the county will monitor and asses the park daily. 

The kayak launch is still open for use. 

The park is located at 7501 E. Laurel Road.
