North Port non-profit collecting donations for Puerto Rico

NORTH PORT, Fla. — A non-profit organization in North Port is collecting donations for those in Puerto Rico.

HOPE for North Port, in partnership with Iglesia Nueva Esperanza are asking for donations to fill a shipping container.

They are accepting:

  • Hygiene Products (including all but not limited to) diapers for children and adults, baby wipes, baby care items, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap, sunblock
  • Air mattresses, sleeping bags
  • Blankets
  • Camping tents, lighters, camping equipment
  • Solar lights
  • Tarps

You can donate Friday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. at 5600 South Biscayne Dr. Items will be inventoried and loaded on Saturday.
