Some Main Street shop owners in Lakewood Ranch said out of control teens are ruining the entertainment district's atmosphere.

"It gets into that mob mentality where there's no supervision and anything goes. There can be hundreds of them on a weekend," said shop owner Renee Towns.

She said she supports a new measure by the owners of the entertainment to impose a 6 p.m. curfew on kids sixteen and under.

"The back door of my store is in a dark corner we get a lot of young ones who are getting friendly with each other," said Towns.

Lakewood Ranch parent Ian Whittemore said he is against the new curfew.

"Having kids get together in an environment like this where it is fun I think is actually great and if you have a few kids that do something you can't take it out on all of them," said Whittemore.

The curfew begins this week.
