Sarasota Police are currently investigating a hit-and-run accident.
It happened at 6th Street and 8th Street along North Washington Boulevard around 7 p.m. A driver hit the backside of a bicyclist and caused the bike to lose control. The driver fled the scene.
The male bicyclist was transported to the hospital and later died from injuries.
Police are looking for a dark colored Toyota with front end damage.
