A Pinellas County Sheriff’s deputy is fired after reportedly crashing into a motorcycle while driving drunk and killing a Bradenton woman.  It happened at US 41 and 37th Street Court East in Manatee County at around 10:30 p.m. Friday night.

Investigators say 37 year old Timothy Alan Vaughan veered out of his lane while traveling on US 41.  Vaughan hit a motorcycle, which then hit another motorcycle.  The impact of the crash threw the victim, 20 year old Alexandria Marler, onto the street. Vaughan then ran over Marler.

Marler was taken to Blake Medical Center and later died from her injuries.

Vaughan was a deputy for the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.  He was terminated from his position this morning.

Vaughan was arrested for one count of DUI Manslaughter, two counts of DUI Property Damage, one count DUI Personal Injury and Careless Driving.
