Beth Work of Bradenton said her first husband’s college ring was stolen five years ago when they lived in Lake County. She always wondered what happened to the ring, but figured she would never see it again.
“I was sitting with my kids at dinner and received a Facebook message that the ring had been found,” said Work.
Susan Wilburth was walking home to her Lake County home when she noticed a shiny object in an old tackle box.
“I bent down and there was the ring and I thought oh my gosh,” said Wilburth.
The ring was engraved with the name Robert Work.
“We came home and thought lets see if we can find them on Facebook,” said Wilburth.
The families connected on Facebook and they now have plans to meet.
“I’m so thrilled I’ll be able to get the ring back,” said Work.
Wilbruth said she has been having some bad luck. She’s hoping this good deed will turn her luck around.
“I thought if I brought closure to someone and brought closure to a family then maybe god would repay me you know,” said Wilburth.
