A Bradenton man is facing multiple charges after deputies say he attacked a Sheriff's K-9 while trying to escape.

The Manatee County Sheriff's Office says Simon Williamsen, 33, was breaking lights and windows of a house under construction on Bay Drive in Bradenton and when deputies arrived on scene and tried to arrest him, he ran.

A K-9 named "Loki" was released and when the dog bit Williamsen, he started punching it. Williamsen eventually surrendered and was arrested at the scene.

Williamsen was transported to Manatee Memorial Hospital but refused medical treatment. He was transported to the Manatee County Central Jail where he was officially charged with armed burglary, criminal mischief, resisting arrest and battery on a police K-9.
