SARASOTA, Fla- — Sarasota police say they had to rescue nine people after a boat caught fire Saturday afternoon.
According to Sarasota PD, a 24-foot boat caught fire about 350 yards west of the 10th Street boat ramp in Sarasota Bay. Other boaters helped police to get all passengers on shore safely. No one was injured.
UPDATE: There were 9 passengers on board, not 12 as previous believed. All 9 people are safe and accounted for.
