Aleksandr V. Vasilevskiy, 27, of Delta Junction, Alaska, has died after he was ejected from his motorcycle on Main Street in Sarasota around 1:46 a.m. on Friday.
According to police, Vasilevskiy was traveling east bound on Main Street and he failed to turn into the roundabout at Orange and Main Street. The motorcycle struck the roundabout and the victim was thrown from the motorcycle. They say speed is believed to be a factor in the crash. It is unknown if drugs and alcohol were a factor in the crash.
The intersection was closed for about 3 hours while officers cleared the scene.
