Police are investigating an apparent drowning in a North Port swimming pool.
Units were called to a home in the area for a suspected drowning of a two-year-old child.
The young boy was found in the family's backyard pool.
He was taken to the North Port Emergency Room via ambulance, but did not survive.
The Criminal Investigations Division is looking into the circumstances surrounding the death.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
