16-year-old arrested for shooting that injured 2 in Sarasota

SARASOTA, Fla. — A 16-year-old boy is facing charges in connection to a shooting that left a 17-year-old and 21-year-old with serious injuries.

The teenager, who ABC Action News is not naming due to his age, was arrested on Monday after turning himself in.

Police say the shooting happened on Sunday at the intersection of Carver Street and Orange Avenue around 9 p.m.

The victims, who are both male, were taken to Sarasota Memorial Hospital with life-threatening injuries. Police say they are expected to survive.

According to authorities, the suspect and the victims were involved in an on-going dispute.

The teenager is facing two charges of aggravated battery with a firearm.
