POLK COUNTY, Fla. — Beer and wine can now be purchased as early as 7 a.m. on Sundays in Polk County after county commissioners voted on Tuesday to extend the hours.
Before the vote passed, certain parts of the county were not able to purchase alcohol until 12 p.m. on Sundays.
The vote passed 3-2. Commissioners Bill Braswell, Melony Bell and Todd Dantzler supported the 7 a.m. Sunday to 2 a.m. Monday sales. Commissioners John Hall and George Lindsey voted against the change.
