Polk County Detectives arrested a Winter Haven man after he sent messages to an undercover detective on Facebook and arranged to meet with the detective to sell him Xanax.

Stanley Jarvis Gaskin, 20, was arrested and charged with one count possession of alprazolam (Xanax) without a prescription, one count of possession of meth, and one count possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to the affidavit, Gaskin contacted the detective on an undercover, fictitious account on Facebook and told the detective that he had "bars" to sell for $2 a piece. A meeting place was arranged at the Circle K in Winter Haven. Throughout the investigation, Gaskin and the detective communicated via Facebook messages, text messages and phone calls.

When the suspect met the detective at the gas station, xanax pills and methamphetamine were found in his possession. The suspect's car was searched and officials found a mini cross bow, an airsoft bb handgun, an antique musket-style handgun, along with multiple wrist watches, a security badge and a police campaign hat badge. He told detectives that the police badge belonged to his girlfriend's grandfather.

Gaskins has three prior arrests in Polk County for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, felony batter, domestic violence by strangulation, and drug possession. He was arrested for domestic violence in May 2016.
