Polk County Public Schools asking families to vote for name of new high school

DAVENPORT, Fla. -- The Polk County Public Schools is asking families to help them name the new high school.

The school, located adjacent to Davenport School of the Arts, is scheduled to open August 2021, according to the district. The school will offer programs in the fine arts, hospitality and hotel management, technology, computer modeling and gaming, the district said.

The "naming committee," chosen by the district, narrowed the choices down to three names:

  • Davenport High
  • Heritage Trail High
  • Horse Creek High

Families can click here to cast a vote. Voting closes on Friday, August 28.
