A Polk County man was arrested Monday after police say he sexually abused a woman and later bit a deputy.
Detectives say Shawn Watkins, 26, forcibly kidnapped a woman, brought her to his home, struck her in the face multiple times, choked and sexually battered her, and held her against her will.
The woman was able to get away and Watkins was taken into custody. During the arrest, Watkins struck two EMS employees and three firefighters, and also bit a deputy sheriff.
He is charged with two counts of battery on a law enforcement officer, five counts of battery on a firefighter/emergency medical, one count of destroying/tampering with physical evidence, one count of kidnapping inflicting bodily harm, one count of false imprisonment, sexual battery with physical force and domestic violence.
