The Lakeland Polk County Government Center was evacuated Tuesday afternoon due to a HazMat situation.
Polk County Fire Rescue was on scene to assist Lakeland Fire Department.

According to PCFR, about 16 people were exposed to an unknown substance in the building. About 50 were in the building when the incident occurred.
The substance was tested for biological hazards, but none were found. Everyone in the building went through a decontamination process as a precaution, but no one showed any signs of being ill.
The FBI and Lakeland PD will be carrying out an investigation.
