An 8-year-old boy in Lakeland made a police officer's day when he offered to pay for his meal and wrote a note on the receipt.

At a local Denny's, 8-year-old Noah asked his mom if they could pay for an officer's breakfast. Noah had money he had recently received for his birthday.

On the receipt, he wrote "I want to be you when I grow up. Thank you for your service."

Officer Benitez was touched by the boy's generosity and took a photo with him and personally thanked him.

"Well Noah, you touched all of our hearts today," the Lakeland Police Department said in a Facebook post. "Your support means so much to all of the men and women who put on the uniform everyday."

Noah turns nine this weekend.
