Four new victims accuse Lakeland mental health counselor of misconduct

Four new victims have come forward accusing a 71-year-old Lakeland mental health counselor of sexual misconduct.

Anthony H. Conti, Jr. is facing two counts of Psychotherapist Engage in Sex with Client, Felony 2. He was arrested on September 27 by Lakeland police after an investigation.

At that time, police said there could be more victims in the case and they asked those victims to come forward.

According to the Special Victims Unit, three of the latest victims allege Conti used “messaging/touching therapy” and let them believe that sexual contact by him was consistent with or part of the treatment.
 
The fourth victim said Conti touched the victim’s genitals on two separate occasions.
 
Conti is now charged with three counts of Attempted Psychotherapist Engage in Sex with Client and two felony counts of Psychotherapist Engage in Sex with Client.
 
Conti is expected to face a judge at 1 p.m. Wednesday.
