LAKELAND, Fla. — Disney got straight to work Wednesday, filming the next box office movie — The One and Only Ivan.
While the production began in London this May, part of the movie will be filmed in Lakeland!
ABC Action News was there as filming got started on West Palm Drive, in a quiet neighborhood.
While shooting footage of the massive production, actor Bryan Cranston was spotted leaving the set and getting in a large white SUV.
The One and Only Ivan is based on a novel written by K.A. Applegate. The book is about a silverback gorilla named Ivan who lived in a cage at a mall.
Disney will continue to film in Lakeland at several different locations like the Southgate Shopper Center and Dixieland Elementary's playground. Production in Polk County runs through June 23rd.
The movie is slated to come out in the summer of 2019.
