Authorities are looking for two men who carjacked a father and son late Tuesday night.
It happened around 10:26 p.m. at the intersection of Pine Tree Trail and Ronald Reagan Parkway in Davenport.
Jose Peña said he had stopped at the light, waiting to turn left onto Ronald Reagan Parkway, when he was hit. He and his son were on their way to a friends house.
"As soon as I stopped, not even two seconds later, I was hit from behind," Peña said.
Peña said he and his son got out of their Nissan to check the damage.
They were hit by a white van. Two suspects got out of the van. Peña noticed the passenger of the van was holding a gun and pointed it at them.
Peña said they demanded them to get away from the car.
"(They said) get the [expletive] out of the car and get out of the car. We take the car," Peña said.
Peña said his only concern was his son's life at that point.
"I told my son to get away from the car and forget about it. Let them take whatever they want to take," Peña said.
Peña said the incident lasted 10 to 15 seconds. The suspects got away with his Nissan.
"I was surprised, but people need to be even more careful. Around here, I can never complain about deputies because I see them all the time patrolling," Peña said.
If anyone has any information about this case, they need to contact the Polk County Sheriff's Office or Heartland Crime Stoppers.
