BARTOW, Fla. — Bartow police are investigating a deadly single-vehicle crash.
Police said on Saturday at around 6:13 a.m., the Bartow Fire Department was notified of a brush fire in the 1200 block of US Hwy 17 N.

The fire department responded to the area and determined the source of the fire was a vehicle that had exited the roadway and struck a tree.
The fire was extinguished and a body was located within the vehicle.
The incident was determined to be a single-vehicle crash and Bartow police took over the investigation.
The cause of the death has not been determined at this time.
This is an active and ongoing investigation.
